Dwarves on the move

So, this Is the First post in my new blog, something i havent really done since the early '00, more than a Life ago. I used to had a forum, back then, for something not miniature related... But i digress..

First post, Is a some sort of reharsal before truly gettin in, next year. Yes my Plan was to start with jan, but an early post cannot be a bad idea. I am preparing for OWAC, thats why i try with this on my personal.

Back to the project.

Some times ago a good friend of mine (with whom i usually Exchange hobby advices and sometimes models) got a dwarf king on shield, and also bought the scenery forge dwarf mould.

https://scenery-forge.com/shop/elite-dwarves/

This One, just to be clear.

The product Is nice but lacks details and the weapons leave much to desire for.. luckly i had many bits leftover from a commission to send him, so i did.

But i thought was a good chance to build and paint something extra, just a Little start for his new army to be and also for the pleasure to gift a Friends with something made by me.

Here the results :

A Little (pun intended) unit of Rangers.

Those are also made from leftovers, a bit of recast in resin and a Toy.

For the main warriors i used some casts of GW bodies and original gw heads, custom built great weapons and no shields. The paint scheme Is very simple, on pourpose, to reflect their status, Rangers, so some more or less camo colors to Better hide in the woods and of course leather jerkins over mille.

Same process and color scheme for the icon bearer, GW old body and head, a tootpic and simpe icon. Just a tankard on a shield... Nothing fancy.

The unità champion Is a bit different. A big Boi from mantic, tall as hell and with a wider upper body than his cousins. my son instantly call him as the blacksmith, the stronger of the unit. But definitely not the leader.
Here he Is, the leader, captain Leif, to lead the expedition. GW iron drakes body, classic arms and a odd (but dwarvy) mantic head. No weapons visibile, but a command baton, for his role painted with the usual colore scheme, but with a fancy helmet.

And there Snorra the elder, Brother of Leif. Too old to fight properly but too stubborn to admit It. He drives the Pack Yak™ in the mountains, with all the belongings of the delagation. He has a custom hood and and old shield with freehand design. The Pack Yak™ itself Is Just a Toy found in a fleamarket with bits and pieces (raided from the gift for my friend, Devil me...)

Overall this was a Quick project, and a fun One, i like to convert old toys more than ever, i just hope that the band arrive safe and sound to my distant friend. I trust Italian Postal Service like a drowning man May trust a floating leaf...  Just sayin..
